Meet Your Therapist

A woman with glasses and shoulder-length brown hair sits on a brown leather sofa in a well-decorated room. She wears a light green striped short-sleeve top, white pants, and various bracelets. Behind her is a white bookshelf filled with books and decorative items, including a wreath, framed art, and pottery.

About Meg Fuson, LCSW | Helping Trauma Survivors, Professionals, and Teens Find Healing and Balance

Hi, my name is Meg Fuson, and I’m the Owner of Stillpoint Therapy! Being a therapist is actually my second career, and it has been such a meaningful journey to get here. For more than 25 years I worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse. When my children started school, I went back to school myself to complete my RN. Somewhere along the way I realized my heart was no longer in nursing. Around that same time, I went on a mission trip to Honduras, and God really used that trip to change the direction of my life. I felt a pull to help people in a different way, and that is when I knew I needed to step into social work. I finished my Bachelor’s, went straight into graduate school for my Master’s, and found myself in private practice doing work I absolutely love!

The funny thing is, I used to say I’d never be a therapist. I figured I wouldn’t work in private practice, and I was sure I wouldn’t work with children, because I knew I’d get attached and care so deeply. Turns out God had other plans! Looking back, I can see how He gently led me into the work He meant for me all along, and I’m so grateful.

While my personal faith is Christian, my approach to therapy is inclusive and welcoming to all. I believe therapy should be a safe and nonjudgmental space, no matter what your background, beliefs, or life story looks like. My role is to walk alongside you with compassion and care, not to push my own views. One of my favorite things about this work is that I get to meet people from all different walks of life and share in their stories.

Outside my office, my family is my heart. I’ve been married for more than 25 years, and we have two amazing adult children. We live on a small farm, so there is always something to smile about. We share our home with a few friendly cows, a sweet old horse, a curious cat, and two very enthusiastic dogs. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me spending time with family and friends, enjoying a good book, going for a walk, or planning our next little trip!

My Approach

I believe therapy should feel safe, supportive, and personalized. No two people are the same, so I take an integrative, person-centered approach that adapts to your unique story, strengths, and goals.

I draw from a range of evidence-based methods, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Helps identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns.

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT): Builds practical skills for managing big emotions and creating balance.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): Supports healing from trauma by reducing the weight of painful memories.

  • Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT): Strengthens family relationships and improves communication.

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI): Encourages insight, motivation, and readiness for change.

Using these tools, I help clients process trauma, reduce anxiety, build coping strategies, and create healthier patterns in daily life. My goal is to offer a space that is both structured and flexible, where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to grow.

Why “Stillpoint Therapy”

The name Stillpoint is rooted in Psalm 46:10: “Be still, and know that I am God.” The Bible actually references the idea of being still more than 30 times. That has always spoken to me, because I know how hard it is to slow down, rest, and simply be in God’s presence. I chose the name Stillpoint as a reminder that healing is not always about pushing harder or doing more. Sometimes it is about pausing, being still, and giving yourself space to breathe.
